Aidan Milliff is a Ph.D. student in Political Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is an affiliate of the Security Studies Program, and a 2016-7 MIT Presidential Fellow. His research interests include emotions and decision making in political violence, state capacity and management of violence, sovereignty, and the security politics of South Asia.
Before MIT, Aidan was a James C. Gaither Junior Fellow in the South Asia Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, where he participated in projects on nuclear deterrence in South Asia, the military balance in South Asia, and domestic state capacity and governance in India. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Chicago in 2015 with a BA in Political Science and an MA with honors in International Relations.
